FIRST MEETING

“We met on an online dating app called Yellow. We swiped right and the rest is history. After a month of online chatting and flirting, our first date was on 16/6/2016, having lunch at Chadstone followed by a movie, dinner and drinks at Crown.”

On first impressions:

Almira: “He was handsome and had a cute smile. His eyes were mesmerising and he was fun and easy to be around.”

Michael: “She was absolutely stunning, down to earth and made me feel relaxed.”

THE PROPOSAL

“We got engaged on 7/10/17. He took me away for the weekend which was meant to be for my birthday. We had lunch at Passing Clouds, and that’s where he surprised me with a proposal.”

Almira: “I felt speechless and over the moon.”

Michael: “I was nervous and overwhelmed.”

THE BIG DAY

“The day started very early, and having 3 hours of sleep was worrying. The day started off feeling nervous. But once the ceremony was over and done with, we could finally relax. The weather was amazing. It couldn’t have gotten any better considering it’s Melbourne and you never know what season you will get. We both felt happy and emotional and exciting about starting a new chapter in our lives.”

Most memorable moment would have to be:

Almira: Walking down the aisle and seeing Michael at the end of it with the biggest smile on his face. He also broke down during vows which was cute. Our first dance was very memorable and every time I hear “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, I remember our dance.

Michael: Hearing our song during the ceremony and seeing Almira for the first time walking down the aisle and I agree with Almira, every time I hear “Perfect” I remember our first dance.
